Anna Hübner

Bakgrund

Before joining the doctoral programme at the Department of Economics, Geography, Law and Tourism here in Östersund, I graduated from the University of Aalborg with a MA in Tourism Studies, and from the University of Brighton with a BA in International Hospitality Management. In my theses, I looked at the destination image of Greenland and the Arctic as well as the influence of media on perceptions of climate change on the island of Martinique.

Forskning

A summer job with a small hotel on the Eastern side of Greenland some 16 years ago sparked my interest in the implications of climate change on tourism. I find it fascinating to examine how people see the world and how tourism or being a tourist come into play when it comes down to perceiving concrete impacts of climate change and responding to these.
