Bakgrund
I am a senior lecturer of English linguistics specializing in corpus linguistics and historical sociopragmatics. My research interests include multidimensional analysis and the endeavor of defining orality across spoken and written registers, as reflected in my monograph Conversational writing (Lang, 2015) on computer chat and my co-edited volume Voices past and present (with T. Larsson, Benjamins 2020) on features of involvement/orality in historical and present-day texts. I have also published on the pragmatics of emojis and intensifying adverbs and recently co-authored a book on the sociopragmatics of intensifiers in Late Modern English courtroom discourse (with C. Claridge and M. Kytö, in press at Cambridge University Press).
My current teaching includes courses in grammar, academic writing, second-language acquisition and English language proficiency, and the supervision of bachelor-level essays in English linguistics and language didactics. As of 2024, I am director of studies in the English section of the Department of humanities and social sciences.
