As a degree seeking student at Mid Sweden University, you have the opportunity to study abroad at one of Mid Sweden University partner institutions.

You can apply to study abroad one or two terms. Your options varies depending on your current studies at Mid Sweden University.  

Are you interested in studying abroad during the academic year 2015-16? The application is open from February 4-24th 2015 and is completed entirely online.

Before you submit the online application, discuss with the international coordinator at your department which partner universites that may suit your degree plan.

In order to complete the application, the following documents need to be uploaded into the online application (pdf only).

1. Motivation letter: 1-2 pages, describing your motivation to study abroad. Please write in English.

2. Transcript of records showing completed courses at Mid Sweden University. The requirement to be eligible for exchange studies is at least 60 credits earned at Mid Sweden University and that you have followed the study plan according to your degree program.

3. Optional: Proof of language proficiency. For example, some partner universities require TOEFL or IELTS scores.

4. Optional, but gives extra credit to your applictaion: Certification of involvement in the International Committee in the Student Union, or as a Student Ambassador at Mid Sweden University.

For information about partner universities that fit your degree plan, contact the international coordinator at your department. You need to have 1-3 alternatives when you fill out the application. You will receive a decision on your application 2-3 weeks after the application deadline. If you are nominated for exchange studies, the next step is to apply to the partner university and fill out the following forms:

 

Before your exchange studies

1. Apply to the partner university. The International Coordinator at your department or International Office will guide you.

2. Choose courses and fill out the Learning Agreement. The learning agreement needs to be signed by the coordinator at your department and a contact person at the partner university. You keep the original and send a copy to the International Office.

3. Erasmus Scholarship Application, if studying at a partner university within the EU (except Switzerland). Send the filled out and signed application to the International Office.

4. Erasmus Language Assesment test, if receiving the Erasmus Scholarship. You will be sent a link to the assessment test by the International Office.

5. Pick up your Insurance Card at the International Office

 During your exchange studies

1. Confirmation of Arrival and Departure, to be filled out and scanned to the International Office upon arrival and departure at the host university.

2. Changes to Learning Agreement, if you need to change your courses while abroad. If this happens, contact the International Coordinator at your department

3. Remember to save all the syllabus/course plans in all the courses you are taking at the host university.

After your exchange studies

1. Request your Transcript of Records from the host university.

2. Fill out the Application for Credit Transfer, submit to the Student Affairs Office at your department, along with your transcript of records, Learning Agreement, and syllabus/course plans.

3. Write a travel report and send to the International Office. This will be used to inform future students interested in studying abroad at the same partner university. Complete the online Erasmus report, if applicable.
