Current research

I am currently working in the KEPS project that concerns kinetic energy storage in paper-based supercapacitors. The research team within the project is working on a technique for large scale production of graphene/nanographite. The electrodes that are used in the supercapacitors are fabricated by coating a graphene dispersion onto a fiber-based substrate. One of the challenges I am focusing on is how to stabilize the graphene in the dispersion to avoid aggregation and to maintain the electrode performance. Scanning electron microscopy is used to study the electrode structures, see example to the right.
