Print

As a student at Mid Sweden University you might want to apply for at degree certificate at the end of your studies. This is done at the Degree Office. If you fulfill the national and local degree requirements we will issue the certificate and send it to you.

When to apply

You can apply for the degree certificate after you have received final grades for all courses that are required for the degree. You have received a grade when it is reported into the student datasystem called Ladok.

How to apply

You must apply for the degree certificate. Applications are made online via "DEGREE CERTIFICATE Apply here!" in the right menu, which is a link to Mid Sweden University's student portal. In the portal you apply via "Application for a certificate" and receive information about the degree process via "Monitor application for a certificate".

If you prefer to apply using a paper form you must print one from the right menu and then mail it to the Degree Office - we do not accept applications via e-mail. Application for research degrees can only be made using a paper form.

When the Degree Office has received the degree application we may ask you to complete the application with additional documents e g certified copies of former degrees and a description of the study system at the university where you got your previous studies.

Administration Work

The administration work continues when the application is complete, and the degree certificate is then issued within a maximum of 30 days.

A complete application is:

  • when the application is properly completed
  • when all required documents are attached
  • when all courses have received a final grade
  • when the Degree Office has received an assessment of your previous studies from the Department (not always necessary)

Degree Content

Only completed courses at first, second or third cycle in the Swedish higher education can be included in the degree certificate. For example, courses in Swedish language for exchange students do not count as higher education and will therefore not be included in the degree. Every single credit needs to be unique, which means that the scope of a course will be reduced if the same content is covered by several different courses.
