Science without Borders

Ciência sem Fronteiras (Science without Borders) is a large scale nationwide scholarship program primarily funded by the Brazilian federal government. The program seeks to strengthen and expand the initiatives of science and technology, innovation and competitiveness through international mobility of Brazilian undergraduate and graduate students and researchers.

The program is a joint effort of the Ministry of Education (MEC) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT) through their respective funding agencies — CAPES and CNPq.

The following course packages are available at Mid Sweden University:


Embedded Sensor Technology, Campus Sundsvall
The course package focuses on embedded electronic systems with sensors. It is continuously updated with the latest development in the field, in collaboration with researchers and industrial partners.

Specific entry requirements
Three years of studies within a bachelor's programme in Electronics Engineering/Electronics, Computer Engineering, Physics or Mathematics, with at least 22.5 Credits (22.5 ECTS) in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics and at least 15 Credits (15 ECTS) in Electronics Engineering.

Science without Borders

Basic eligibility requirements
The student must have completed at least 60% of the studies planned for his/her degree programme at the time for the planned beginning of the scholarship period.

English proficiency
The student must present TOEFL test (Test of English as Foreign Language) in the modalities IBT (Internet Based Test), minimum score of 90 points (no band under 20) or PBT (Paper Based Test), minimum score of points, 575 or IELTS minimum score of 6.5 points (no band less than 5.5), performed sometime after August 1, 2010.
