Application and Tuition fees
The Swedish parliament has passed a law outlining tuition and application fees that applies from the academic year 2011/2012.
Who is required to pay application and tuition fees?
Students who are citizens of countries outside of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland are required to pay application and tuition fees for post-secondary education in Sweden.

Application Fees
Citizens of countries outside EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee when applying for education in Sweden. However, students who are currently registered at a Swedish University are exempt from paying the application fee.
The application fee is administrated by the Swedish Agency for Higher Education Services (VHS) via the application portal universityadmissions.se. The application fee is 900 SEK (Swedish kronor).
Tuition Fees
In general, students who are required to the pay application fees are also required to pay tuition fees. Students with a citizenship in a country outside EU, EEA and Switzerland who are admitted to a Swedish university or college are required to pay tuition fees.

Who is exempt from paying application and tuition fees?
If you are a citizen of an EU or EEA country*, or Switzerland, you are not required to pay application or tuition fees. *Citizens of candidate countries are not exempt from fees.
Citizens of the following EU/EEA countries do not pay application or tuition fees, see list of member states in the EU and EEA
Students who are registered at a university or university college outside of Sweden and will be studying in Sweden on a temporary basis as part of an official study abroad programme as an exchange student will not pay tuition fees to Mid Sweden University.
