Payment of Tuition fees

Admitted students for whom tuition fees apply will receive instructions on how to proceed to pay their tuition fee.

Payment of the first semester of study

Offer of admission

Students who have been admitted and offered a place in a course or study programme at Mid Sweden University will need to reply and accept the offer to hold their place. Students who do not confirm their offer within the given deadlines will lose their place on the course or study programme. For more information please visit www.universityadmissions.se 

Tuition fee payment 

  • Students who are required to pay tuition fees for studies at Mid Sweden University will receive an invoice for the total tuition fee for the first semester (30 credits). The invoice amount will be in SEK (Swedish krona).

  • An invoice for the first semester is sent by email after the second Notification of Selection Results have been published at universityadmissions.se and for autumn semester 2016 the invoice will be sent in the beginning of May.

  • The invoice is sent to the e-mail address used in the account at www.universityadmissions.se. The e-mail also contains information on how to pay (Billing and Payment) and Mid Sweden University's Reimbursement of tuition fee Policy.

  • Students who are required to pay tuition fees are conditionally admitted to Mid Sweden University until the first tuition fee installment is paid in full by the specified deadline set on the invoice.

  • When Mid Sweden University receives payment, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the student. The confirmation will contain a insurance certificate that should be sent to the Migration Board.

Scholarships 

  • When applicant have been granted and accepted a scholarship, the amount awarded will be deducted from the tuition fee invoice accordingly. No money will be disbursed to the scholarship holder personally.

  • When granted a scholarship, information regarding the scholarship is stated on the invoice of the tuition fee. The scholarship value is deducted from the tuition fees, and the tuition fee invoice is the certificate of the scholarship. No separate certificate will be provided. 

  • Mid Sweden University provides the Migration board with the names of the scholarship holders.

Residence Permit application

  • You may apply for a visa/residence permit as soon as you receive an offer of admission from Mid Sweden University.

  • Please note that the application process will not begin until the first installment of the tuition payment has been made to Mid Sweden University.  It is therefore important that students pay as soon as possible and within the given deadlines stated on the invoice.

  • Mid Sweden University will notify the Swedish Migration Board when the tuition fee has been paid in full. No separate receipt is needed.

  • After payment is made a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the student. A insurance certificate will be attached in the e-mail and should be sent to the Swedish Migration Board with your application for a residence permit.

Payment of ongoing semesters of study

Tuition fee payment 

  • The tuition fee must be paid one semester at a time; therefore students will receive subsequent invoices before the start of each semester.

  • The invoice will be sent to the e-mail address registered in the Student Portal.

  • The invoice amount will be in SEK (Swedish krona) and the payment deadline will be specified on each invoice.

  • When Mid Sweden University receives payment, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the student.

  • If the remaining part of the tuition fee is not paid by the specified date, Mid Sweden University will send a reminder in accordance with SFS 2010:543 §10. Should the tuition fee not be paid by the specified due date, the university will suspend the student until the tuition fee has been paid. Suspension is applied immediately (§ 11).

Students pay the tuition fee by transferring funds from the bank of their choice to Mid Sweden University. For Mid Sweden University to insure that each invoice is correctly identified, please state your invoice number and name as a reference when paying through bank transfer.
