According to a study by computer science researchers at Karlstad University, few people know how their personal data are collected, used, shared and accessed. The new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), coming into effect in 2018, will include higher demands on the possibility for users to access their own personal information.

Cyber attacks on the Internet are not only becoming more and more common, but also more sophisticated and complex. A new project at Linnaeus University in Sweden, funded with SEK 3 million by the Knowledge Foundation, will result in techniques and tools to create a protecting layer for software systems against attacks.

Innovative glass coating gets grant from Vinnova to commercialization

Researchers at Linnaeus University and Linköping University is now focusing on commercializing the new glass material developed - a micrometer thin film that can make ordinary window glass three times harder and has great potential for screens of smart phones and tablets.

In Vinnova's first evaluation, of the Swedish Innovation offices, Fyrklövern gets highest grade. Some of the success factors pointed out is good anchorage, breadth and student support.

Innovation offices, 12 in number, set up in 2009 and its task is to increase the utilization of research. Karlstad University, Linnaeus University, Mid Sweden University and Örebro University cooperates on one of these - Innovation Office Fyrklövern.
