Exchange studies

Exchange students are students coming to Mid Sweden University for one or two semesters within the framework of an exchange agreement. The length of the exchange period is determined by the agreement between Mid Sweden University and the student's home university, but the maximum is always two semesters.

Programmes and Courses

Exchange students can apply for courses and programmes at Bachelor and Master level in the fields of Humanities, Social Sciences, Technology and Natural Sciences, Teacher Training and Health Sciences.  Exchange students may apply to study part of a Bachelor or Master’s programme, or apply for single courses taught entirely in English.

If your university has an exchange agreement with Mid Sweden University, you are welcome to apply as an exchange student. The admission of exchange students is granted to qualified students nominated by their home institution. The student must fulfil the general requirements for admission for entry and the prerequisites for the chosen courses.  How to apply as an exchange student.

Erasmus+ Master degree loans

What is it?

Erasmus+ Master degree loans allow students to apply for support for their Master studies abroad. Loans will be offered by participating banks and student loan agencies on favourable terms to mobile students, including better than market interest rates and up to two years to allow graduates to get into a job before beginning repayment.

Student Accommodation

Mid Sweden University does not provide its own student accommodation, but the university cooperates closely with several student housing companies in each campus city. The types of housing varies, but all types of student accommodation in Sweden are generally of a high standard. Exchange students may apply for accommodation before receiving the Confirmation of Enrolment, but the accommodation application will not be processed by the housing company until after the students enrolment is confirmed. Please note that students need to be admitted to at least 15 credits per semester to qualify for student accomodation. Read more about student accommodation.

Arrival and Introduction Days

The introduction for new international students begins the week before the official start of the semester and includes a variety of activities to help settle in smoothly at the university.  We highly recommend students to arrive on time to attend the introduction days.
