I flera år har Mittuniversitetet genomfört en kraftfull satsning på forskning inom grön energi och energilagring. Nu beviljar KK-stiftelsen drygt 25 miljoner kronor till Mittuniversitetet, bland annat för ett nytt projekt med målet att utveckla ny teknik för effektivare energilagringssystem.
Nu monteras ett tiotal uppkopplade snödjupsmätare upp längs Sundsvalls gator. Målet är att snödjupsmätarna tillsammans med annan väderdata ska ge kommuns gatukontor realtids information för att optimera och effektivisera kommunens väghållningsarbete.
Last week, STC got an international visit by Prof. Faisal Qureshi from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. At his visit in Sundsvall he held two open lectures on Deep Learning for the researchers at STC.
Today Dr. Henrik Andersson held a trial lecture for appointment as an Associate Professor (docent) on the subject Physical Electronics. The title of his presentation was ”New materials and processes for electronic devices”. We congratulate Henrik as our new Associate Professor at STC!
This Thursday, STC got a visit from The Institute Industrial IT (inIT) from Lemgo, Germany. The team from inIT got a presentation of the research center STC and after that a guided tour in the lab where Prof. Bengt Oelmann presented the latest research in Energy Harvesting.
Dr. Sebastian Bader from STC has been entrusted to represent Sweden in the management committee of the new EU funded cost action network called ODIN - Optimising Design for Inspection. This COST Action will bring together the top European experts within measurement technology, energy harvesting and wireless sensor networks and computer analysis to coordinate and support the research and development of integrated sensor systems for continuously monitoring of aircrafts.
November 7, it was time for PhD-student Xinyu Ma to present her research work in a half-time Seminar with the title “A Power Estimation Method for Indoor Light Energy Harvesting”.
Arbetet på virkesterminaler runtom i Sverige ska effektiviseras genom att utveckla ny teknik för att fjärrstyra lastare. STC samverkar med bland annat Volvo och SCA i ett nytt forskningsprojekt där målet är att samma operatör ska kunna ta hand om lastning och lossning på flera virkesterminaler.

A new investment in research on AI becomes a reality when Mid Sweden University and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's IT department sign agreements. The parties fund the investment jointly and now a PhD student will be recruited.
