Department of Natural Sciences (NAT)

The Department of Natural Sciences (NAT) is based at Campus Sundsvall, where we educate and conduct research in the subjects of biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, technical design and engineering physics.

Our department has about 50 employees who train and conduct research in a wide range of scientific and technological fields. The department is responsible for the bachelor's program Biomedical and engineering program, Technical Design, but our staff is also heavily involved in other civil and engineering program, as well as in teacher education and scientific base year.

Organizationally, the department is divided into five teams, where research and graduate studies mainly carried out with a focus on environmental, material and energy issues. Linked to the research, we also offer master's degrees in biology, chemistry and engineering physics.
