The whistleblower function is part of the university's work to counter the occurrence of corruption and other serious irregularities in the business.

The whistleblower function is aimed at both the University's staff and other persons who make observations that may include corruption or other serious irregularities. The purpose of the function is to facilitate the reporting of maladministration that the University would otherwise not have been aware of, that is, things that concern the University's vital interests or the life and health of individuals.

Those who can be registered for the whistleblower function are persons in the university's management, persons who, according to the university's decision and delegation schemes, have the right to make decisions about or manage the authority's funds, and other key persons in the organization.

The whistleblower function is limited to serious irregularities related to accounting, internal bookkeeping, auditing, bribery, banking and financial crime, or other serious irregularities affecting the vital interests of the organization or individual's life and health.

When to report to the whistle blower function?

There are various channels for reporting corruption and irregularities within and outside the university and it is not always easy to decide to whom to turn. Possible channels are:

• The nearest manager or the manager level above
• HR department or the university's legal function
• Media
• Visselblåsarfunktionen

Many times it is most advisable to contact their nearest manager or the manager level above if it feels inappropriate to turn to the nearest manager. In other cases, it may be appropriate to contact the HR department or the university's legal function. If you do not want to apply to any function within the university, you can instead use the constitutionally protected freedom of speech that is granted to all employees in the university and turn directly to the media. The message protection is the strongest anonymity protection and includes a ban on the university to investigate who submitted information to the media.

Applications for the whistleblower function shall apply to observations linked to persons in the University's management, persons who have the right to make decisions about or manage the authority's funds, as well as other key persons in the organization. The purpose of the whistleblower function is to either handle the application on its own or to ensure that it ends up with the right recipient within the university.
