The research group in Power electronics is currently working in different fields such as high frequency power converters, induction heating and resistance welding applications.

In just a few years the research have been positioned in the frontline for high frequency power supplies and have been presented as the only isolated converter above 3MHz with an efficiency exceeding requirements from commercial applications. The research have been resulted in one spin-off company and many new collaborations both industrial and from academy.

The research is also targeting higher power levels using the technology for high frequency switching for isolated power converter in a few kW. In this field different transformer concepts, converter topologies, control techniques and EMI suppression is currently investigated. Research in the field of wireless energy transfer is also panned to be started within 2014 mainly for powering of wireless sensor nodes in industrial environment.
