Recruitment of staff from abroad
In order for a person to be able to work in Sweden, a work permit or residence permit is always needed. What is required depends on the capacity in which the individual will be working, for how long the appointment will be, and the country the person comes from.
An EU citizen needs neither a residence permit nor work permit to be allowed to work in Sweden. They have a so-called right of residence.
Recruiting staff from a country other than Sweden can be both complicated and time consuming. Since there are many parties involved and each part of the process takes time, a case can sometimes take between six and ten months to be handled. In order to facilitate and streamline the process, there may therefore be reason to draw on the assistance of the relocation company contracted by Mid Sweden University. Relocation is a collective term for many different services connected with recruitment and when a person needs to move from one country to another.
See below for further information about each process.
