Doctoral student Lisa Ridzén's debut novel "The Cranes Fly South" will be released in the next few days. The inspiration for the book comes from Lisa's grandfather's home care notes – and from years of research on Jämtland men's norms and emotional lives.

The visit to Mid Sweden University was part of PRV's two-day tour of Härnösand and Sundsvall under the theme "Västernorrland as an innovation county".

On Thursday, January 25, Saad Muhammad Shaikh successfully presented his thesis "Hyperspectral imaging for in-situ applications: Methods to improve the classification of materials using hyperspectral imaging". After the grading committee's deliberation, he can now title himself a Doctor in Electronics.

Emanuel Magnusson, outgoing president of the student union in Östersund, has been given a new assignment. For six months, he will lead a project on student social activities and student influence with the goal of making Mid Sweden University known as a university that puts students at the center.
