Internships are sometimes part of the curriculum at Mid Sweden University, and it may be possible to do the internship abroad. For certain subjects, you may also be able to do your degree project or data collection abroad.
Erasmus+ traineeship grant
If you plan to do your internship or degree project in an EU / EEA country for at least 60 days, you may be eligible to apply for the Erasmus+ traineeship grant!
Erasmus+ traineeship grant is open to students at Bachelor, Master, and PhD level who will do a placement or thesis work at a company or organisation in another European country, for at least 60 days (max 12 months).
By doing a traineeship abroad with Erasmus+, you can improve your communication, language and inter-cultural skills, and also the soft skills highly valued by future employers.
Erasmus+ traineeship grant amounts
The grant amount is based on the country where traineeship takes place and the length of the traineeship. The scholarship is meant to help cover additional costs in connection with your stay abroad e.g travel and housing. It does not cover everything. Grants can vary from year to year, the current range is € 550- € 650 a month depending on host country.
Please note that it is not allowed to receive other grants or scholarships from the EU or the Swedish Council for Higher Education for the same period you receive the Erasmus grant for a traineeship.
Group 1: Programme countries with a higher cost of living: € 650 per month.
Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Liechtenstein.
Group 2: Programme countries with a lower cost of living: € 550 per month.
