As from 1 July, 2007, Mid Sweden University applies a criterion-referenced grade of seven levels.
There are general criteria for the seven levels that apply to both first and second cycle education. In addition, each subject/main field of study has specific criteria. Sometimes, a course specific grading criteria is a part of the syllabus.
