SAP: Sex And Pain
The project aims at describing experiences of sexual pain among women (18-35yrs) and potential associations with emotional, cognitive and behavior aspects well-known from studies of other pain conditions. The study also includes aspects of how pain is handled and relationship/partner aspects of living with sexual pain.
The study is a questionnaire-study with a baseline measure and follow-up at 5 and 12 months. The study is the first of its kind by following women over time in order to explore patterns of the development of sexual pain.
Predictors of pain could assist the individual as well as society in treatment planning which is a field lacking knowledge in many aspects.
