On Tuesday, the STC research center invited students from Mittuniversitetet to the STC Tech Tour. During the tour, the students visited seven different labs and met researchers from different research areas who talked about their research projects.
This week PhD-student Tra Phan presented her work on a half-time seminar with the title "Automatic Design Tool for Electromagnetic Vibration Energy Harvesters”. Now Tra continues her work toward a doctoral thesis defense.
In January 2023, Liang Zhou arrived in Sundsvall, to start his position as a research engineer for the InfraVis project. He will help researchers enhance their impact and gain insights by using state‐of‐the‐art visualization methods and tools.
In January, a first successful test was carried out with an autonomous ATV at Örnsköldsvik airport. The goal is that in the future the ATV will be able to drive completely autonomously on the runway and measure the risk of ice and slipping.
On February 16, Yali Nie successfully presented her doctoral thesis "Deep Learning Approaches Towards Skin Lesion Classification with Dermoscopic Images".
Last autumn, two PhD students at the STC Research Centre were awarded a scholarship from Ericsson Research for international research stays, read an interview with the two PhD students Sujash and Farnaz about where they are going and what they will do.
On Thursday, January 26, STC research center was visited by Japanese Ambassador Noke Masaki and First Secretary Shinya Tatematsu.
During the autumn, researchers at Mid Sweden University, connected construction machines working on a construction site at Alnö in Sundsvall. This is the first step towards measure and follow up construction machinery's CO2 emissions with the goal of being able to reduce emissions in the long term.
